Sunday, June 14-28 Paddle Sport Clean Up Party For over 20 years and counting, the end of June has traditionally been a time to celebrate the end of black fly season and to do our good deed as paddlers and take part in the annual Saranac River Clean Up. With the COVID-19 and the concern of the safety of our staff and our paddling community, we have decided to do something different this year. HOW DOES IT WORK: St Regis Canoe Outfitters, Adirondack Lakes & Trails Outfitters, Raquette River Outfitters, MAC's Canoe Livery, and the Northern Forest Canoe Trail would like your help with a little Spring cleaning at your favorite paddling spot. Here’s how it works….
Stop by one of the sponsoring businesses and pick up a bag (or two).
Go to your favorite paddling spot and enjoy some time on the water.
Before, after, or during, pick up trash along the shore, in the water, and at the boat launch.
Take a photo of you and your clean-up crew doing good work and share it with us through email, or share it on Facebook or Instagram and tag “Celebrate Paddling” and use the hashtag #celebratepaddlingcleanup
If you have a place to dispose of your trash, great! If not, drop off your haul at one of the sponsoring locations.
PERSONAL CARE CONSIDERATIONS: Wear proper footwear, protect your hands with gloves, pick up only what you are comfortable picking up, and as always consider your own personal safety first. Looking for something you don’t have, just ask!
All participants who have shared their success will receive a participation sticker to proudly display on the location of their choosing.
